I have been a car “nut” for as long as I can recall, and always towards performance and style. This pursuit brought me to the Mercedes marque in August 2007 when I bought my first Mercedes, a C215 CL500. An awesome car which I sometimes regret moving on. But I did, and to a C207 E400 coupe and then on to a C238 E400 which I have today but do not now put many miles on. I have always had a daily second car, initially a Seat Ibiza (I know- sorry) but that quickly changed to an MB A200 when I experienced the quality in my CL500. There was then three years on the dark-side when I bought an Audi TT before now returning to MB with the latest A200. I have been a club member since December 2018 when I saw what was on offer as a member and the support and camaraderie that I could have with like-minded fellow car enthusiasts. My wife and I have enjoyed club events arranged by other areas and we thought that the vacant Cumbria RO role could help bring together like-minded MB enthusiasts from around the region so that we could enjoy a good “craic” on cars and everything else in the world as we get together socially, make new friends, and enjoy driving around the beautiful sights of Cumbria together. I hope to fulfill all those objectives for you. The Cumbria CA region has not had a regional officer for a while so I know there will be time and work on my part to bring together the social aspects of club membership but my past life will I am sure see me right. I will always be here for you; to chat, take on suggestions, provide help where I can, and even assist with any knowledge I have gained over the years of running my CL500 and my E class coupes.
